- 1966  [Caption] Last year, yields of 40 and 50 bushels per acre were not uncommon in the increase fields of Manitou wheat one of which, near Regina, is shown being swathed. However, seed of this variety is in too short supply because of the great demand for it throughout most of the prairies. Manitou, developed by the Canada Department of Agriculture and released in 1965, is resistant to both leaf and stem rust.
